Distance students orientation programme

The Distance Learner Orientation Programme is designed to give you the means to prepare for university study. You will find out how to access the tools and resources for distance learning.

This year we're coming to you with our Getting on Track regional visits.

Networking events

Distance students are also invited to attend all campus events if they are in the vicinity, including the 1-hour networking events:

  • Manawatū campus
Wednesday 19 February, 5.30pm at The Centre
  • Wellington campus
Thursday 20 February, 5.00pm at Tussock cafe. Please RSVP here.

Getting on track - regional visits

At getting on track you will be able to meet with:

  • A support staff member will check your enrolment details, discuss course planning and workload. They can put you in touch with an Academic Advisor if you require further support.
  • A support staff member who will share with you tips and tricks for studying at a distance.
  • The Pasifika Learning Adviser who will guide you on tips of how to be a successful Pasifika distance student, connect you to the Pasifika support at Massey University and attend to any questions regarding your studies (Auckland visit only).
  • The MUSA Distance Advocate who provides independent support and advice ranging from course, welfare and financial assistance.
  • A Stream (learning environment) expert who can teach you how to navigate and get the most out of Stream.
  • Other new distance students who are on a similar journey to you.

We invite you to bring your laptop along and we can assist you with learning about Stream (online learning environment).
