Graduation ceremonies at Massey University

The Graduation ceremony marks the end of a long period of extensive learning and is a celebration of your dedication, achievement and effort at one of New Zealand's leading universities.

Please be aware that some Colleges have more than one ceremony and these may be on different days. Where only one ceremony is shown, then all qualifications in that College will be awarded at that ceremony.

Apply to graduate

In order to graduate at a graduation ceremony or via Academic Board you need to apply to graduate. If you choose to graduate via Academic Board your graduation certificate will be sent to you and you will not be able to graduate in person at a ceremony at a later date.

Once you have completed your qualification, and graduation applications are open, you will receive a notification in your student portal with information about how to apply. Notifications are sent out after Semester One and Semester Two: 

  • Semester One: Mid-August
  • Semester Two: Mid-January

If you want to graduate via Academic Board you can request that an apply to graduate notification is sent to you at any time using the following form.

If you choose to graduate via Academic Board, you cannot graduate in person at a later date. Your graduation certificate will be sent out to the mailing address held on your student record. Please ensure your address is up to date before proceeding. You can update your contact information by logging into your student portal and clicking ‘Your profile’, in the top right-hand corner.
