The library is located between the Pyramid and Tussock Bar and Café. Entrance A is the closest Wallace Street entrance. From Tasman Street, enter through the glass doors on the left of Tussock and turn left to reach the library.

Drop-in library tours are offered at the beginning of semesters 1 and 2 and will be advertised on the Library Tours and Classes Schedule. You can arrange a tour at another time - ask at the level A service point or contact us.
The level A service point is open during library opening hours. Please feel free to ask any Library staff member for assistance.

The Wellington library has a generalist collection, with particular strengths in art and design, music, nursing and communications. The library holds over 135,000 books, plus print journals, newspapers, reference items, and audio-visual material to support the programmes offered at the Wellington Campus.
Study spaces for individuals and groups are available on levels A, B and the Mezzanine. Waka 1, 2 and 3 on level B are long tables for quiet, study-related conversation. Huihui 1 and 2 are bookable study rooms on level A, and Huihui 3 and 4 are bookable study rooms on level B. They can be booked for two hour periods by small groups.
There is also a parents' room on level A for those who are using the library when they have children with them.

Distance students are welcome to visit Wellington library and are entitled the same services as internal students. Please bring your ID card or, if you haven't received one, some photo ID. Books will be issued for the longer distance-loan period, and Freepost return labels are available on request. Books from any Massey library may be returned to Wellington library. PC and Macintosh computers are available on levels A, B and the Mezzanine. These computers are available for use by Massey students (internal and distance) and staff during library opening hours.

There are also stand-up Library search computers on each floor.
All computers are available on a first-come-first-served basis. They may not be reserved, except by library staff for training sessions, usually in Akoako 1 (library teaching room on level B). Computers unattended for more than 15 minutes may be logged off by library staff and made available for other users.
Use of the computers should be in accordance with the University's Use and Access to Information Technology Systems Policy. Please limit activities that are not course-related (e.g. social networking, email) at peak times or when others are waiting to use computers. Access to TradeMe is blocked from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Massey University's Wireless Networking Service (free to staff and students) is available in the library. More information about getting connected is available from Information Technology Services.
Wireless printing is available in the library.
Help is available from library service points during opening hours. Specialised IT help is available from Wellington Regional IT Support (Block 5, Level C), 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Help sheets are also available.

MFDs (multi-functional devices for printing, copying and scanning) are available throughout the library.
Instructions are on the devices. Help with printing, photocopying and scanning is also available from library service points.
Your network account must be in credit balance to print or copy. Student ID cards can be used as print and copying cards, or you can purchase a card from the level A service point.
For overhead transparency copying please use only OHP/acetate purchased from the Library.
GST is deducted at the time you credit your account, for example:
$5.00 loaded = $4.35 credit
$10.00 loaded = $8.70 credit
Once GST is deducted these prices apply:
Black & white: A4 and A3 = 5 cents
Colour: A4 and A3 = 40 cents
Double-sided is charged as 2 copies
You can return items when the Library is closed. There is an After-Hours Return slot facing into the carpark at Entrance E, off Tasman Street - just post your items here, and they will come off your record the next business day.
