Massey University Runners - Wellington

Recreation Wellington is establishing a Massey University running group with the aim of bringing together student and staff runners of all abilities, to support them in participating in these four iconic Wellington events:



Prepare to Run

Five weeks out from each event, a weekly schedule of interval training will be posted to the Facebook page, along with the occasional PB shattering tip and trick.

Indoor Running & Supplementary Strength training

In addition, you can join Massey University Gym and get access to the campuses best treadmills, fitness instructors and (not quite the best) hot showers. One month options are super affordable (and come with a free hour with a trainer, worth $30):

  • Massey University Students: $56
  • Massey University Staff: $64
  • Public members: $80

Start with a free week trial (and a free week of treadmills and showers) just by heading over to Massey University Gym, Building T32, Gate C, Wallace Street.

Finding Running Buddies

Let’s face it, runners tend to be solitary creatures, either introverts strengthening their introvertedness, or extroverts recharging. From time to time, you might like to run with other actual human beings on a regular basis. In this case, we can recommend both:

Keeping the Dream Alive

Massey University Wellington has a long history of world class athletes running by it. Keep the dream alive, and get involved. We could do with some help with:

  • Organising regular/semi-regular/occasional Massey University Wellington runs
  • Design of the Massey University Running Wellington brand for social media and running singlets
  • Providing event preparation information and post-event reports
