Earlier this week, the New Zealand Government issued a directive to cancel events and mass gatherings of more than 500 people. Massey University has responded to this by reviewing all our events, including graduation.
Our graduation ceremonies in Auckland, Manawatū and Wellington in April and May will no longer go ahead. While this is so, our graduands will still graduate. Celebrations to honour Māori and Pasifika graduates have also been postponed.
While we understand this decision will be disappointing for our graduands who have worked so hard to reach this milestone, it has been made with the health, safety and wellbeing of the whole community in mind. Special celebrations will be planned at a future date for those affected.
Graduates will receive their graduation certificates by courier and a certified digital version of their graduation certificate and academic record will also be available via My eQuals.
We congratulate all our graduands on their achievement and look forward to celebrating this important milestone with them in person when the time is right.
