This new 180-credit masters programme is an advanced one-year innovative and exemplary approach to teacher education (primary and secondary).
The Master of Teaching and Learning is taught collaboratively with partner schools to provide unique high-quality teaching, learning and mentoring experiences in school, university and community settings. Some of the many distinctive features of this programme are: individual and small group mentoring; an assessment centre experience to identify your personal strengths and customise your learning needs during the programme; and the rich blended learning community. This cutting-edge approach to teacher education is designed to equip you with the adaptive expertise and self-efficacy to meet the needs of all learners.
This programme will spark your passion for lifelong professional learning and encourage you to continuously evolve your professional identity and philosophy of teaching and learning. This approach to professional development means you will graduate with high-level skills and an increased capacity for leadership. It will also prepare you for further study and career pathways in line with the Government’s Investing in Educational Success Initiative.

Graduates of this programme will be eligible to apply for provisional registration with the Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand and become provisionally certificated teachers.
