“I knew people who had studied supply chain management at Massey and I heard good things about the overall leadership and courses available…”

Specialising in procurement at Transpower in Wellington, I wanted to keep learning and thought a Master of Supply Chain Management was a good way to do this.

I moved to Sydney in mid-2013 which could have been an issue as I was now a remote student but I had great help and assistance from my professor in guiding me to an outcome I am very proud of. I have learnt so much along the way.

I enjoyed the whole learning experience from literature review, research to thesis and use of the SPSS quantitative analysis tool.

I presented the findings of my thesis about public sector supplier value characteristics at the 2016 EurOMA conference in Norway. EurOMA is an international network of academics and practitioners who are interested in operations management.

I love academic research and my ability to bring this through in a commercial perspective due to my 30-plus years in the workforce.
