Research plays an important role in the Institute of Education. We have a vibrant research culture and supportive environment for academic staff, postgraduate research students and visiting scholars. 

Our academic staff is involved in a wide range of research activities, including publications in peer-reviewed books and journals, conference presentations and external contract research. Staff with shared research areas work together to investigate topics of common interest. 

Postgraduate research students receive excellent supervision and research training. Their master's and doctoral thesis topics align with the research interests of academic staff, and add to the depth of research capability at Massey University.

Equity Through Education

Equity Through Education is a community of researchers across professions who work with communities to ensure equity in the education sector for all members of society through educational change. Our aim is to research models and methods for educational change with communities of parents, educators, advocates, learners and researchers both within and outside the formal education sector.

Our research community members are primarily based in the Massey University Institute of Education, but we collaborate with a range of different people.
