    Understanding plants and plant technologies

Plant Sciences at Massey University

Research and study in plant sciences at Massey University spans the whole range from evolution to ecology. Our scientists and students research the fundamental aspects of plant growth and function, as well as the evolution, ecology, systematics and sustainability of our rich and varied flora.

New Zealand is also a world leader in producing great food through pastoral farming, horticulture and viticulture, and research at Massey helps underpin New Zealand's primary industries. We are advancing knowledge in the development of improved plant production and technologies that are needed to feed a rapidly increasing world population.

What we do attracts interest from around the world, and our experts regularly host international visitors and present at world conferences.
