Global Student-Athlete Equestrian

Red arena jump.jpg You don't have to give up riding while you study overseas. GSA Equestrian allows you to incorporate weekly riding sessions into your semester of study at Massey University.  The programme is not limited to just those studying Equine or Animal Science.  It is open to students in any major.

GSA Equestrian gives you the chance to learn from New Zealand instructors who are experts in their areas of specialisation.  You will attend three training sessions each week and really get to know your horse as you work with the same one throughout your semester.

This programme is only available at Massey Manawatu campus in Palmerston North.  GSA Equestrian runs during Semester One and Semester Two.

Programme Structure

You will have three group riding sessions per week at an off-campus equestrian centre as part of GSA Equestrian.  You can also opt to have one of your weekly group sessions as a private training session focusing on a specific area you are interested in working on.  The sessions are scheduled for the following times:

  • Monday  4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday  12:00 pm to 2:30 pm
  • Friday  8:00 am to 10:30 am

The programme spans 12 weeks, from the first week of the semester through to the start of exams.  GSA Equestrian will not run over the mid-semester break, giving you more time to get out and explore New Zealand.

Additional benefits
