GSA Golf is for experienced student-athletes who want to work with golf professionals to develop their skills and improve their games while studying abroad. The programme is available during Semester 1 and Semester 2. The programme provides a full golf membership which provides access to an 18-hole course, driving range, and practice fairway.
You will also train and play matches with the region's top golf professionals. You can choose to have your lessons with one pro exclusively or alternate between various pros to learn from a variety of players. You can schedule your lessons to fit around your Massey classes.
Lessons will not be scheduled over your semester breaks. This will leave you free to travel and take advantage of your reciprocal membership rights to courses around the North and South Islands. You will need to bring your clubs with you to New Zealand.
The Manawatu Golf Club has been Palmerston North's premier club since its founding in 1895. It is home to the oldest golf course in New Zealand and the only course in the country to foster and develop three players through to playing on the United States PGA Tour.
The course is regarded as the region's premier 18-hole layout. The park-like course is tree-lined, has beautifully manicured fairways, fast-rolling greens, and over fifty challenging white sand bunkers. Events such as New Zealand's top Professional and Amateur competitions, New Zealand Open Championships, New Zealand Amateur Championships, and various other national championships are held at the course.
The following opportunities are available through GSA Golf.
Transportation between Massey University and the Manawatu Golf Club is included.
