McConnell Elton Foundation Bursary
The McConnell Elton Foundation is a registered charity that provides bursaries to final year veterinary students
experiencing financial hardship.
The McConnell Elton Foundation is committed to financially assisting and improving the welfare of veterinary
students in New Zealand. Our vision is a New Zealand veterinary community that supports, values and promotes
veterinary students for the benefit of individuals and the veterinary profession as a whole.
Recipients of bursaries, after two years of full-time employment, will be encouraged to donate to the charity
to financially assist additional final-year students. Thus the number of students that are helped by the
Foundation shall grow annually. With time, the Foundation aims to assist every veterinary student in their final
year of study.
Number, Tenure and Value of Awards
Up to three bursaries valued at $1000 each tenured for one year shall be awarded.
All final-year veterinary undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
Students experiencing financial hardship or unforseen changes to their financial circumstances are encouraged
to apply. Financial need, academic merit, extracurricular activities, and other awards or scholarships held by
the applicants may be taken into consideration.
Responsibility for the Award
Bursaries will be awarded annually by the Massey University Scholarships Office on the recommendation of a
representative from the McConnell Elton Foundation.
